Rebates

A doctor’s referral is not needed to see a psychologist. However whether you receive a rebate depends on whether you have a referral (Mental Health treatment plan), are covered by a private health fund or are self-funded. Please note we are not a bulk billing practice.
Mental Health Treatment Plan
A mental health treatment plan can be discussed and accessed through your GP or psychiatrist prior to your first counselling appointment. If you are eligible, you are entitled to 10 claimable sessions per calendar year under Medicare. The rebate amount you can claim under Medicare is $93.35 per session, leaving only the gap for you to pay yourself. Our psychologist at CCP Psychology is a registered Medicare provider, meaning you can claim this rebate for psychology services if you have the appropriate referral. Please bring a copy of your doctor’s referral and health care plan to your first appointment with us.
Private Health Insurance
If you don’t have a mental health plan and have private health insurance, depending on your cover, you may be eligible for a rebate as well, covering some of your cost for the session. Speak to your health insurer to see if you are eligible. No GP referral is required.
Self-Funded
If you do not have a mental health plan and are not covered under private health, then you are a self-funded client. This means full session payment is payable by you.
Fees
The Australian Association of Psychology (AAPi) recommended fee is $300 for a 40- 60 minute consultation. CCP psychology fees are considerably less than the recommended fee, making CCP accessible to clients. Please contact us for further pricing.
